The Care and Feeding of Waspish Widows, Olivia Waite. Historical romance by the author of The Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics. I really liked this - delicious slow burn, plus a look at some actual historical events from the British Regency period (or I guess immediately post-Regency, the regent having become king) that I knew nothing about. Thoughtful about women's rights, and lavender marriage. I liked that the main couple had a queer community, and that they were middle-aged women with previous relationships. Very much felt like wish-fulfillment fantasy on a number of fronts - what if you could have romance and a community *and* meaningful work *and* a relationship with nature - while still also having some real stakes and some reflection on ways things can be hard. Definitely recommended if you like historical romance.
