January Fifteenth, Rachel Swirsky, 2022 novella. Near-future SF where all US citizens receive an annual UBI disbursement on the titular date, following four women through their day with a look at what UBI has or hasn't made better for them. Nothing here really... surprised me? Like, yes, those do all seem like possible character types, and these do seem like things that could happen if you replaced all existing social programs with UBI. But I thought it was solidly done, and I'd rather see it on the ballot than some other things, so hey.
